The association was created in June 1984 by a group of horticulturists who agreed on the need to create an organization that would look after their business interests and facilitate the task of successfully competing in the markets.
Currently, there are 113 associates who plant a wide variety of horticultural products.
The Yaqui and Mayo Vegetable Producers Association (APHYM) is located in the Yaqui Valley in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico.
The Yaqui Valley is located in the south of the state of Sonora and has 220,000 hectares of irrigation supplied from 3 interconnected dams, with a storage capacity of 7,200 million cubic meters.
